Firmware update guide:
Firmware can be updated using audio files. An update takes approximately 5 minutes.
Step 1: Start with your module off. Connect a stereo (TRS) audio cable to the ROOT input
Step 2: Start the module while holding the CLOCK button to enter the bootloader mode (The LEDs should flash blue for 1 second)
Step 3: Play the firmware .wav file at maximum volume (without distorting the signal!). Free software like Audacity is suitable for this.
Warning: Make sure that you are not playing the firmware file through speakers, it is not pleasant for the ears, especially at max volume!
Each LED indicates which part of the firmware was successfully received. When all LEDs light up, the module will overwrite the old firmware with the new firmware. If some LEDs remain off, part of the update failed due to non-ideal volume or cable quality. Try playing the file again and see if the empty spots get filled in or change your cable or volume settings.
At any moment the update can be aborted without bricking your module.
Just press the RECALL button or turn your module off and on!
Tip: If nothing seems to happen when you are playing the audio file, try using a mobile device like a phone to play the audio file. Wrong ground levels can interfere with the update process.
